On June 19, 2020,  he  pronounced the verdict : to find journalist Tazakhan Miralamly guilty of committing a crime under Article 221.1. of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, and sentenced him to 1 year of restriction of freedom.

On February 27, 2020 he recognized Mammad  Ibrahim guilty and sentenced  him to  10 days of administrative arrest.

Applying the Article 70 of the Criminal Code of the Azerbaijan, the court rendered a decision to grant parole with a probationary period of 6 months. Azad Hasanov was released in the courtroom

Hajiyev Afgan  was judge to the trial of political prisoner, member of opposition Popular Front Party, Fuad Ahmedli, and on July 16, 2017 sentenced F. Ahmedli to 4 years of imprisonment.

He was the chairman to the trial at Baku Court on Grave Crimes and on July 11, 2018 sentenced paralyzed Abulfaz Bunyadov to 15 years of imprisonment and Elkhan Iskenderov  to 14 years of imprisonment.
