OSCE Media Freedom Representative to Host Conference on Internet Freedom in Vienna

The OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Dunja Mijatović, will host a conference on online freedom on 14 and 15 February in Vienna.

The two-day event, “Internet2013: Shaping policies to advance media freedom”, will bring together some 250 key policymakers and experts from throughout the OSCE region to discuss the challenges to freedom of expression and media freedom online.

The conference will include 12 panel discussions on a wide range of subjects regarding freedom of expression online, ranging from  freedom of expression and hate speech to the future of copyright online and liability for comments on news sites.

Dawn Nunziato, Professor of Law at The George Washington University Law School, and Yaroslav Skvortsov, Dean of the International Journalism Faculty at Moscow State Institute of International Relations will give keynote speeches at the opening session.
