Convicted in the “Nardaran case” Jabbar Jabbarov was placed in the punishment cell in jail N 1 for six days, said his relatives. According to them, the formal reason for the punishment was a fight between prisoners. However, Jabbar Jabbarov did not participate in this. It was not possible to obtain comments from the Penitentiary Service.
Jabbar Jabbarov was detained during a special operation by security officials in the village of Nardaran in 2015 against the leader of the Muslim Unity Movement Tale Bagirzade.
Jabbarov was subsequently sentenced to 19 years in prison on charges of terrorism, arms trafficking, premeditated murder, organizing mass riots, and other crimes.
